Last Night on Earth
Sunday, 1:55 am in Archive
Well kids, this is it, the absolute last day I’ll premanently ‘live’ in Canberra for anywhere between 3 and 5 years – and quite probably indefinatley. From now on, I’m the strict property of the University of Wollongong.

Honestly, I don’t really know what I think about this. I’ve been feeling largly indifferent for a long time, though the nerves have begun setting in over the past few days. It’s just such a big… thing. Suddenly being thrown into the big wide world of communal living away from home. Not only will I not be at home for the first time in my life, but I’ll be with other students; and for someone who’s never had siblings that’s a pretty scary thought. Not to mention the fact that it’s the first year of Uni, and I’m doing a degree I have no prior knowledge of (Law). I’ll know no-one, and I’m not terribly social at the best of times.

Still, I’m kinda excited. I mean… it’s sort of like going on camp. For five years. I have stuff packed. Actually, it’s not as much as I thought; mostly clothes, cleaning-type items and electronic goods (Hexx, Terebi-san and Sir Stereo). I have a very tiny box of books, half a rack of CDs and a small canvas bag for my inking equiptment. I probably won’t even use half of it. Hexx has just been reformatted again to give me more space on C (tip: no matter how cool it sounds having a drive just for Windows, always leave extra space for all the retarded programs which insist on installing things there), but that means I’ve lost Linux which will be a bit of a drag if I need to do any programming. Other than that…

Things I’m definatley looking forward to next year are having cable and not being under my parents’ juristiction. Things I’m not looking forward to are work and not being under my parents’ juristiction. So…

I guess this is goodbye, Canberra. So long, and thanks for all the fish.- « Previous

That was weird, I haven’t seen SK in ages and it pops into my head on your last day here. I’m sure you’ll have fun and do well. I know we aren’t really best buddies anymore, but I do hope you’re happy with Wollongong. Anyway, I guess this is goodbye and goodluck.
