Lil' Vee

The cat is so adorable.
We picked her up from the breeder yesterday, and spent most of the morning playing with her in the library. We’ve got this highly-illustrious piece of string with a big of fabric tied to it that she found fascinating (we originally made it when my cousin bought Lou around the other weekend), so she spent most of the morning playing with that and hiding behind the giant bookcase. All you could see were two cute little ears peeking up over the Buddhist essays. She would sit there and meow, so we had to keep unstacking the books to pull her out; eventually i just pushed them all back against the wall so she couldn’t get in there anymore. I’m so mean.
Then, of course, mum got paranoid that she hadn’t used her litter tray yet, so I suggested if it was really bothering her to rub Vee’s butt with cottom wool; it’s how you toilet train orphaned flying foxes, and it works on kittens too. This then lead to a great deal of hilarity and Domestos. Kittens, eh?
After a short bath, Vee spent most of the rest of the afternoon wrapped up in my blanket on my lap while I was in ZG. So adorable!
I’m convinced that there is nothing that there is nothing Wiki doesn’t know. Or at the very least have a link to.
Years and years and years ago when I was a wee tyke, I listened to a J-Files on They Might Be Giants. It was back in the day when I was taping everything I liked off the radio (way back before mp3s and p2p), and one of the song I really liked that I taped on the TMBG J-Files was something from a side project of one of the Johns. I had no idea what it was called or who it was by, and in fact the only thing I remember about it was the fact that it had the lyrics “[…] moving […] town to town” in the chorus. I’ve never been able to find it using Google.
Anyway, last night I was browsing the list of New Wave artists on Wiki as part of my quest to classify every single one of my 3,000-ish mp3s by artists, title, year, genre and album and I came across the entry for TMBG. “Oh,” I thought, “I wonder if they have that song I liked!” They didn’t, but Wiki had a link to another Wiki (This Might Be A Wiki), and by doing a quick text-search for ‘town to town’ in lyrics, I found it.

Town to townQuoted From: Hello the Band, "Town to Town"
From memory there has only ever been a couple of things I haven’t been able to find on the Internet, and that was one of them. The others, from memory, were a copy of “Fuck Me [Radioactivity Mix]” by I’ve (though admittedly I found the ‘vanilla’ version as well as the lyrics to the mix version, which is how I knew it was a mix version) and “Deep Inside” by Säju (though I did find out the title – all I knew was that it was the ending theme to Hypnosis), who is probably better known for singing the end theme to Spriggan, “Jing Ling”. Funny how they’re all obscure music-related…

I demand someone give me a decent digital camera first.

And apparently I broke HTML in comment. D’oh. log.code should still work; just use square brackets – [ and ] – instead of greater-than/less-than signs.
