I don’t usually talk about ~starfyre [h]’s journal here, since she has it locked for a reason and all, but something she mentioned recently made me think.
Remember how when you were a kid you always tried to start a diary? (Well, if you were a girl you did; dunno about boys.) But you always eventually forgot about it? And then you had thoughts like “Ha ha how stupid I was to think I could maintain a regular diary”, or if you managed to stick with it for a month, a year, whatever it was all smiles and pats on the back and self-congratulation like you’d made some big milestone?
v-s.net has consistant entries going back to June 2000 (And my LJ predates even that, though not nearly as consistently). That’s a solid and steady four years of keeping what is, essentially, a diary.
So maybe really all anyone ever needed was semi-anonymous public approval of their existence.
Something to think about.
In other news, Elavion is open. Don’t really expect much to come of it, but chopping up the graphics was a fun detraction from actual study.
