Well, it’s that time of the week again, so put on your dancin’ shoes and get ready for some Music Monday madness.  I decided to have a theme this time.  Ingeniously, this theme is Songs I Have Downloaded in the Last Week.  Oh-ho-ho I’m so clever!

26. Tiga, “(Far From) Home” (watch)

As far as I go, as far as I know
I’ve always got, a place called home
I cross over seas, it’s fine by me
‘Cause I’ll never be, far from home

I kept seeing this song on Rage in the morning, kept telling myself I needed to download it, and then kept forgetting.  Finally, I remembered, only to discover that there are like seventy billion different mixes.  This is the closest to the ‘vanilla’ (ie. radio) version as I could find.  It’s such a cute track.

27. HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR, “OVER” (watch)

I will kick door
I will crash wall
Stop!? Go!? Cut a way, yourself

I first heard this track on someone else’s Gaia Online profile page.  It’s the kind of lite-and-fluffy power-metal-cum-rap that I would really hate if it were being sung in English.  As it is, it stands up to a few listenings, mostly just for the funny, incomprehensible lyrics.

28. Britney Spears, “Toxic” (watch)

With a taste of a poison paradise
I’m addicted to you
Don’t you know that you’re toxic
And I love what you do
Don’t you know that you’re toxic

Yeah.  Okay.  Look, sometimes I like songs despite myself.  Besides, it was in an episode of Doctor Who so you can all shut up RIGHT NOW!  (Seriously, though I like the “wee-ooh-wee-ooh” riff.  One day someone will sample it and turn it into a good song, I swear.)

29. Polysics, “My Sharona”
A weird little electornica act from Japan.  I suspect you will either, a) love their cover of this song, or b) hate it.  Personally, it’s not my favourite track from them, but it was the only one I could get peers for in aMule.

30. TV Rock feat. Seany B, “Flaunt It” (watch)

Go on and flaunt it
Watcha mamma gave you
Nobody ever gonna tell you
Gonna make you dance till you bleed

One of the ladies I work with is a short, middle-age Indian lady with two daughters, one a little older and one a little younger than me.  This is her ringtone, put onto her phone by her younger daughter.  I hear it’s hot shit in all the nightclubs right now (and, according to Rage, number one on the charts… shows how much I watch those!).  Not that I’d really know, it’s just somewhat humourous to hear this song being belted out by tinny little phone speakers all day long.
