Well, I’m tired like fuck here at the second day in my new home. Back at Wollonong, this time away from the dreadful old CofE. So me and ~

h] are shacked up with three 20-something French postgrads (French! Civilised European-types! We were so relieved…). So far, things seem good. We’ve stocked up on food, and I cooked my One Dish (D’s Random Stirfry).<br />

In lieu of actually doing O-Week stuff, I’m going to the LAN at ~

h] ‘s house tomorrow and Sydney with Wolf and Mat on Thursday (to visit the House of Fetish on Oxford Street, or something). Yay.<br />

D’s Random Stir-fry<br />
500g beef<br />
Carrot<br />
Red capsicum<br />
Snow peas<br />
Broccoli<br />
Packet of pre-cooked noodles<br />
Kikkoman soy sauce<br />
Black Bean sauce<br />
Sweet chilli sauch<br />
Teriyaki sauce<br />
3-ish cloves garlic<br />
An inch or so of ginger<br />

Cut meat in stir-fry strips or chunks, put in bowl with garlic (crushed), ginger (grated), soy, sweet chilli sauce, black bean and teriyaki (a ‘good dollop’ of each). Mix. Put in fridge.<br />

Cut vegetables into stir-fry sized strips.<br />
<br />
Seperate noodle block (usually by soaking in water for a few minutes).<br />
<br />
Heat oil in a wok until hot (when a single piece of meat is dropped in it should sizzle something manic). Brown meat.<br />
<br />
Add vegetables. Add more sauces as required (usually less soy and more blackbean and teriyaki, otherwise it’ll be too salty). There shouldn’t be a great deal of liquid in the bottom of the wok. If there is, add a few spoons of cornflour.<br />
<br />
Cook, tossing often, until vegetables are lightly steamed (still mostly crispy). Add noddles. Put in more sauce as required (the sauce and meat should be quite dark). Mix until noodles thouroughly coated in sauce.<br />
<br />
Put into bowls.<br />

Eat.<br />
