Return of the Pissy eBay Girl
Wednesday, 9:16 pm in Life
Oh my god. For fuck’s sake. I left neutral feedback for my ebay chick saying “Long wait for items due to ‘holiday’, G&LBvol.5 was slightly damaged.
”. I got the reply “Paid $8 shipping, actually $18. Notified about holiday before auction even ended”.
Oh my god.
For starters, I paid $7, not $8 for shipping, which is exactly how much I got quoted in an email on the 31st when I asked (on the 28th). And for seconds, I had no idea that she was going on holiday until after I won the auction and read all the fine print in the winning bid notification email. There was no notice on the item page, if it was anywhere the ‘notification’ was tucked away on her ‘about me’ page somewhere under all the frilly crap about the Little Big Girls (who, while I’m at it, are the reason I don’t get posts from
egl any more). I’m sure there’s some part of contract law which states that’s not legally part of the transaction. The ‘red arrow’ precedent or whatever. But you know what, I don’t fucking care. What I do care about is that my G&L Bible vol5 has a bent back cover, a spine that’s coming apart and detached patterns.
If I’d know at the start (ie. the seller had been honest) that the shipping would be $18 (which is about twice what I normally get quoted), one of my mags would be in non-new condition, and the whole lot would have taken almost a month to get here, there’s no way I would have bid (would’ve grabbed them ‘retail’ off otaku.com instead). Which I’m sure Little Miss knows in her heart of hearts.
Fark. And my first auction ran so well…
