Self-Serve

I’ve entered that phase in my artistic career where I’ve started picking up random fangirls. ~Mat [h] thinks it’s hilarious when I get IMs saying things like “omg i luv u i favd all your devs”. It doesn’t bother me, unless people become a pain in the ass (ala. Your Friend and Mine, “DragonMorphs”). But this phenomena has brought me two revelations.
The first is that I am so much older than these people. I think ~Spug [h] and ~pushtyber [h] are about the only people as old/older than me that are kind of in the ‘loop’ of artists I think of. It’s strange… Dee as the Grande Dame of the grungefurs.
The second is that I only do art trades for profit. I almost never do art trades with friends, simply because I don’t feel I need a ‘reason’ to draw something for ~Spug [h] or ~Random [h] or the like. If I want to draw them something, I will. Ditto with artists I admire personally, and all of you who fall somewhere in between. Generally, if I’m doing an art trade it’s with someone I don’t know, whose identity I have judged in some way to be benificial to me. Advertising and the like.
This is very mercenary of me.
I have an exam next. I will either be able to pass it by Not being a Retard or not at all…
