So You Should Be

Though there was no milk this morning, today is a good day.
Why? Because I came out to find that my roommates had cleaned the kitchen floor. This had previously been the grottiest, scungiest thing you’ve ever seen, thanks to callous cooking and no-one ever actually cleaning it. I used to clean it last session, but started getting too pissed off at it being dirty all the time and no-one else ever doing it, so I stopped. And today I came out and it, and the rest of the kitchen, was shiny and clean. And no, it wasn’t ~wolf [h]. No, actually, apparently it was. Well, here’s me being considerably less impressed.
Amazing.
So I gave my roommate a rum ball for his work (he didn’t know what it or a profiterole was; I can understand the baklava and rum baba, but a profiterole?).
Once upon a time in a small cafe somewhere in france I ate my first rum baba. Words could not describe how great this thing was. I’ve been looking for a good rum baba here ever since. Most of them are hopeless, not even remotley close to what they should be. This rum baba (from Nick’s Cake Shop in Brighton le Sands, Sydney, just near the Novotel, plug plug) is still not as good as that original.
But it’s close enough. Shit, it even actually tastes like rum, which is something none of the other rum baba I’ve ever had here did.
Mmm… rumbaba.
Desserts that are good;
· Rum baba (Italy?)
· Baklava (Greece/Turkey and surrounds)
· Gulab jamum (India)

I still believe that Pumpkin Pie with whipped cream is the greatest dessert known to mankind.
