Strawhart

Monday, 10:28 pm in Archive

I think the God of Books lives in airports. I always find just the right thing when I go there. Today it was The Straw Men by the absolutley scrumptiously hard-to-find Michael Marshall (Smith) or Spares fame.

I’ve been waiting for Straw Men for a long time. It’s not at all much like Smith’s other books, in that it’s contemporary, and not cyberpunk. But it’s still a psychological thriller mystery type thing. Actually, I think it’s more like “The Book of Irrational Numbers” (from 999) than anything else I’ve read from him, though I haven’t read What You Make It, so can’t compare to that.

Not what I was expecting. But yeah… good all the same.
