Well Enough Alone

I’ve been poking about places like DA and Livejournal the last couple of days thinking about how I’d do them differently. So help me god I sat down in front of the computer and did it. Hence Mange! goes through it’s first pangs of birth. It’s a bastardization of DA and LiveJournal… a weblog… a gallery… There’s still rough spots, of course, and it’s going to take a great deal more smoothing than projects like Vaux’s modified sk.ring backend, or even synthetickiss itself. My biggest sticking spot at the moment, of course, is figuring out how the hell to reliably have decent URLs for people. http://mange.synthetickiss.com/art.php?userID=28495 is all very well, but I think I’d rather try and put in something like http://mange.synthetickiss.com/users/username. I can almost do it, I think. The answer to this riddle dancing just on the tip of my mind… is it includes? Or something server based? Of course, I don’t have the flexibility of the DAs and LJs of this world, being the tiny little private domain I am… but I can imagine.
Something to play with, at any rate.
In other news… I should be packing. And, oops, look. I stayed up too late again. Naughty me.
